Laminate Flooring Installation in Chicago's Western Suburbs
Hard-wearing laminate planks over a properly prepared subfloor — a surface that keeps its look through heavy daily traffic.
The work
Laminate gets underrated. A modern plank has a tough melamine wear layer over a dense core, with a texture pressed into the surface that follows the printed grain. In a busy hallway or a family room, it will out-last a softer wood for scratches and dents.
It is also an unforgiving floor to install badly: because it floats, it needs a flat base, the right expansion gap at every wall, and underlayment chosen for the room. Those three things are the difference between a floor that stays silent and one that clicks and lifts.
What's included
- Click-lock laminate in plank and wide-plank formats
- Moisture barrier and acoustic underlayment
- Subfloor leveling before the first board goes down
- Baseboard, quarter-round and transition work
Common questions
- Can laminate go in a kitchen or bathroom?
- Kitchens are usually fine with prompt cleanup; bathrooms and laundry rooms are better served by waterproof LVP. Laminate cores are wood-based, so standing water is the one thing they do not forgive.
- Is it noisy?
- It does not have to be. Most of the hollow sound people associate with laminate comes from a floor laid over an uneven base with the wrong underlayment. Prep and the right underlayment solve it.
- How long does a room take?
- It depends on the square footage, the amount of cutting around cabinets and doorways, and how much subfloor work is needed. We give you a realistic schedule with the estimate rather than a number that slips.
