Vinyl & LVP Flooring Installation in Chicago's Western Suburbs
Luxury vinyl plank and tile: a wood or stone look over a waterproof core, built for the rooms where real wood would struggle.
The work
LVP has become the default for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and basements, and for good reason — the wear layer shrugs off pets, kids and spilled water, and the modern printed textures read convincingly as oak at standing height.
The thing that separates a good vinyl floor from an average one is the subfloor. Vinyl is thin and flexible, so every bump, dip and seam underneath eventually telegraphs through. We level and prep first, then lay click-lock or glue-down depending on the room and the product.

Common questions
- Is LVP really waterproof?
- The plank itself is. That means a spill or an overflowing dishwasher will not swell the floor the way it would with laminate or hardwood. Standing water can still get through the seams to the subfloor over time, so it should still be cleaned up.
- Can it go straight over an existing floor?
- Sometimes — over sound, flat tile or vinyl it can be an option. Over anything soft, uneven or failing, it needs to come up first. We check during the estimate rather than guessing.
- How does it compare to laminate?
- Vinyl handles water better; laminate generally has a harder, more scratch-resistant surface and often feels more like real wood underfoot. Which one is right depends on the room, and we are happy to talk it through.
